GOODBYE NELNET

I figured this was definitely worth a quick blog.... I just called my student loan company to find out what balance is left owing on my loan. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Merry Christmas to me!!!! The very nice lady on the phone said "CONGRATULATIONS, you have a balance of $41,80 which will be deducted by quick pay from your account on Dec. 15th and it looks like you are ALL DONE!!!"

That's amazing. I still have a lifetime worth of payments I think.

I've never had a student loan..... I guess that is WAY to revealing about the length of my educational pursuits. Way to go sis!

Congratulations! By the way, I think the book you are reading is by the same author as "Christmas Jars". I read it a couple of years ago and my brother-in-law used it for our Christmas Eve that same year. He gave us all "Christmas Jars" and ours is full. The kids are thinking about where it will go this year.

Ha Gusti! I never had a student loan either, but I did get a BS...I went the scholarship route, and so did Henry. It's too bad they don't have scholarships for professional degrees. I don't want to know how long it'll take to pay of the loans we're accruing now. So, I'm sure it's a wonderful feeling to finally be done, Quinn! Congrats. Now you can fly out to visit your family in the States every year, right?!

Yes, that is exactly what is means. I will be able to come to America every year now. The money I was sinking in the student loan will now go into my "travel" fund.

Quinn,
Soooooo glad to hear that you have this off your back!! I know it was a heavy weight. But I also know that you appreciate that you were able to do it & to do it your self. Too many people think they are doing their kids a favor by paying for everything for them. I guess fortunately for you & Gusti I didn't have that option. But when I see how both of you are doing in your lives I can not help but feel good knowing that I am your Mom!!
Love you, Mom
